Pedro Mercado started Dj-ing like most youngsters at Dj-contests and small local parties in Belgium. Pretty soon he became monthly resident at the well known Club Decadance in Ghent (1998-2003). In 2005 he reached the semi-final of the Diesel-U-Music Dj-contest at Fuse Brussels. His dj-career really started to boom when he became an important part of the concept "Rotationz, The Heart of Club Nature" in 2006.

Rotationz is one of the biggest radio shows in Belgium concerning Quality Electronic Music. Since 2003 every Sunday Rotationz hosts their national radio show LIVE on Topradio, the biggest dance fm radio station in Belgium, between 21.00 and 22.00 H CET where they introduce the newest tracks, artist albums, CD-compilations & the hottest Dj-mixes,... Pedro Mercado joins Rotationz in 2006 and is now co-host and resident-Dj of the show: every first Sunday of the month he hosts his own mix session which is called "The Hottest Sounds From The Underground". On top of that he is following closely the most important international electronic music events/cities such as Ibiza, ADE, Sonar, WMC, Berlin... and reports about it during the radio show.

Additionly to his Rotationz residency, Pedro Mercado started in July 2011 with a new weekly radio show called “Kondo Beach” where he presents the hottest Deep House together with female DJ/Producer Na Te from Belgium. . Kondo Beach is now broadcasted on several belgian and international radio stations such as Ibiza Global Radio where the show is called “Up-To-Deep”. Recently Pedro Mercado joined also the popular "Deep Room" radioshow as a monthly resident.

In the mean while Pedro Mercado plays as guest in important belgian clubs & festivals like Café d'Anvers, La Rocca, At The Villa, Xoda, Club Vaag, Stereo Six, Versuz Beach, Club H2O, Decadance, Culture Club, The Temple, Riva, Charlatan, Noxx, Make Up, Pulse Factory, Escape Concept, Cherrymoon, Zuri, Barcy Cosy, ICC Ghent, Flanders Expo Ghent, Neverending Festival, Deep House Belgium Festival, Extrema Outdoor, Sunrise Festival, Ibiza Beach Festival, Floland, Dämmerung Festival,… At these parties, he played alongside international dj's such as Mark Fanciulli, Djuma Soundsystem, Wally Lopez, Martin Eyerer, Ismael Rivas, Joris Voorn, Davide Squillace, Butch, Matthias Tanzmann, Ida Engberg, Tania Vulcano, Barem, José De Devina, Camilo Franco, Javi Barreda, Hermanez, Ramon Tapia, Dimitri Andreas,...

The next logic step was producing. Together with his studio partner Karada he released his first official EP in April 2009: “Something” EP, on the belgian label Creamminal Records. May 2011 was a very important moment in the producer career of Pedro Mercado & Karada. Their new track “Hallelujaaahhh” was released on one of the biggest labels in Spain: Factoria Records, the label of Wally Lopez. “Hallelujaaahhh” was already elected before as Track of the Year 2010 in the famous DJ MAG Top 100 Dj’s by Wally Lopez who played it also @ Space Ibiza Opening Fiesta 2011 with huge success! Later on that summer, “Hallelujaaahhh” was also hammered at Bora Bora Ibiza, and also the years after, so it became a real Ibiza Anthem.

From then on Pedro Mercado is invited every summer to play some nice gigs in Ibiza, for example in Savannah, Destino, Pacha, Guarana Club, Es Vive Hotel, Tantra Bar, Lio, La Plage,... and some live guest mixes on Ibiza Global Radio & TV. And also other countries would follow: France (Space Ibiza world tour), The Netherlands (Solar Festival, ADE,...), Germany (Berlin), Spain (Barcelona Sonar Off), Switzerland, Mexico, Belarus, Russia.

End 2012/beginning 2013 is another highlight on production level: together with Karada he releases “You Take Me There (Behind The Sun)” feat. Zoë Xenia on the German label Gold of Rainer Weichhold, who runs also Kling Klong together with Martin Eyerer. The track is remixed by international topproducers Shadow Child & Rodriguez Jr. In the summer of 2013 Steve Lawler & Darius Syrossian play the Rodriguez Jr remix live from Sankeys Ibiza in their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. The track is getting ever more popular and the label decides to bring out this version on a special vinyl: Black Gold Vol.1. Also this track would become a true Ibiza Anthem.

Many own releases & remixes followed soon, on big international labels (Parquet, Kling Klong, Particles, Proton, Deeperfect, Gold, Natura Viva, Smiley Fingers, Beatfreak, KDB Dear Deer, Manual, One Of A Kind, Submarine Vibes,...). Pedro also got remixed by big names like Rodriguez Jr, Zoo Brazil, Zoë Xenia, Shadow Child, Jimmy Van M, Tony Dee, Erdi Irmak, Scott James, Vijay & Sofia Zlatko, Monkey Brothers, Stefano Richetta, Lake Avalon, DkA, ... and did remixes for Martin Eyerer, George Privatti, Robot Needs Oil, Pauke Schaumburg, Tim Penner, Me & My Monkey, Anturage, … and he reached several more times the Beatport Top 100.

In 2017 Pedro started up his own label Chrom Recordings together with his Ibiza mate Mike Chrom from Planet Ibiza. The label focuses on deep-house/deep-tech/progressive-house/melodic-techno from new & established artists from all over the world, with a close eye to the melodic deep/dark sound of Amsterdam & Berlin. In a very short time Chrom has grown into a very credible & successful quality label with many followers and important support from people like Gabriel Ananda, Marc DePulse, Darin Epsilon, Lonya, Oliver Schories, Soul Button, BOg, Jaap Ligthart, Marc Poppcke, Unders, Steve Parry, Paco Osuna, Kintar, Progressive Astronaut, Danny Tenaglia, Nicole Moudaber, Eelke Kleijn, Kaiser Souzai, Olivier Weiter, Damian Lazarus, Animal Trainer, Jos&Eli, D-Formation, Be Svendsen, Sam Divine, Rampue,...

The Chrom artist roster includes already some great artists such as The Note V (MEX, Esto Es Tulum, BAR25), Acado (BERLIN, Techno Frühstück, Sisyphos), Aves Volare (AUSTRALIA, Katermukke, Dantze, Einmusika,…), Na Te (BELGIUM, Ibiza Global Radio, Dear Deer, KDB, Deeperfect) and hosted already Label Showcases all over the world (ADE, Berlin, Belgium, Switzerland, Mexico, Belarus).

And of course expect to hear so much more from Pedro Mercado & Chrom in the future!
